Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop
How much longer?
So, last week news broke directly from Ozzy's mouth that a Black Sabbath reunion is in the works, but there was no timetable as to when that would happen. It was mentioned in passing during some radio interview with Ozzy last week that the band would do the ultimate Sabbath album and tour. Now Ozzy is saying that the reunion won't be happening for about another year or two.
And the winner of the world's greatest drummer is ...
About a week ago, “Rhythm” magazine began a poll of its readers to find out who the world's greatest drummer is from the past 25 years. Out of 102,000 poll participants, 37 percent voted for, non other than, Slipknot's drummer Joey Jordison. Dream Theater, and current Avengend Sevenfold drummer, Mike Portnoy was a close 2nd with Dave Grohl falling in 4th place (see the full list here). If you've had the privilage of seeing Slipknot live, especially back in/around 2005 when Joey pulled the whole Tommy Lee drum solo with a twist, it's easy to understand why Jordison was bestowed this honor. Take that Carl Buford!
