February 1, 2012 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Correcting the record Don’t you hate it when your Wikipedia page is full of lies? When someone says something about you that isn’t true? So does Chevelle. The band has gone in and corrected some misinformation that was posted online. Drummer Sam Loeffler corrects the band’s Wikipedia information so that when journalists reference that page, which most who talk to the band do, they can get the most accurate information ... well as accurate as the band wants the record to be. Meanwhile singer Pete Loeffler apologizes to fans who find their Twitter page boring when their not on the road. He says tweets are more interesting when the band is touring. Tweets are also more interesting when bands go grocery shopping. Taylor/Grohl collab We’re finding more out about the Corey Taylor/Dave Grohl collaboration. It’s not so much a musical collaboration, as bad ass as that is. Grohl is producing a documentary about the Sound City Studios which closed down May 2011. The former Nirvana drummer got his start in that studio, a studio that has seen the likes of everybody from Tom Petty to Nine Inch Nails. Grohl bought the sound board and is apparently asking artists to come back and record through it. Where does Taylor come in? Well, Slipknot recorded their album Iowa at the now shuttered studio. Taylor says he performed a song on the studio’s old board with Grohl and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen.
