Almost, brother! Now this is just really bizarre. There’s a story floating around out there that Hulk Hogan almost joined Metallica. The former pro-wrestler told “The Sun” magazine that he was really good friends with drummer Lars Ulrich. Hogan also said that before being a pro-wrestler he was a session musician. When there was an opening for the band, Lars asked the Hulkster to try out for the band … but Hogan says it didn’t work out. How much truth is there to this story? Unsure. (Have some fun with this Hulk Hogan soundboard) But, there are confirmed stories that some other strange pairings may have taken place like Primus front man and bassist Les Claypool trying out to fill the void. That, of course, didn’t work out either. Catch the Music Minute every weekday with the Free Beer and Hot Wings Show on 92-7 WQLZ, the Rock Station |

It’s a little over a week before the “Big Game” and the commercials are starting to come together with some being previewed online. Motley Crue will have some time in the sun as they appear in a 60-second Kia spot featuring a car driving through a couple’s “wildest dreams.” In that dream there will be a mixed martial arts fighter, a Victoria Secret model, a bull rider and footage from a wild Motley Crue concert. The ad will finish with a fairy tale ending. You can see the ad for the Kia Optima Limited with Motley Crue during the first quarter of the “Big Game.”
