TV premier

You’ve already heard the new tune “Tattoo” and it has landed really high on the charts. Now Van Halen is ready to release another new song, but they’re planning on having the first airing on the TV, not the radio. The band will debut their new and previously unheard tune “Stay Frosty” on the popular cop drama CSI. You’ll also hear "Tattoo" as well during tonight’s airing on CBS. Check your local listings. Van Halen plan a release of the album A Different Kind of Truth February 7th. It will be the first Van Halen album in 13 years and the first with front man David Lee Roth in 28 years. A tour will kick off February 18th in Kentucky with a stop in St. Louis at the Scottrade Center April 29th.

Album talk

It’s definitely not a throwback. That’s how Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell is describing the forthcoming album, the first for the band in 15 years. Cornell sat down for a video interview with Australian radio and said the band has “always kind of progressed from album to album. So it's definitely not a throwback. It's not [Soundgarden] getting back to [their] roots — it's not that — it's just kind of a natural progression.” The band has been working on the new album for sometime now having entered the studio in March of last year. We’re expecting the new album to come out sometime this year. When? That’s a good question.
