August 9, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop A little bit of back and forth, that's all They looked like two old hens bitching about the weather, but they were two rock stars making amends on the mainstream media. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith have been the center of rock and roll attention once again, and for good reason. They appeared together on several news shows, and in particular Fox News where the tough questions were asked. It never fails that there is some conflict between the two. You've got the recent back-and-forth between the lead vocals and the lead guitarist, you know like the whole rehab thing, and the maybe-looking-for-a-new-singer-thing, and how could we forget about the most recent spat about American Idol. Tyler said Perry has this “LSD thing … The Lead, Strum, Disorder … we've just played so long together, it's just fighting and making up. Fighting and making up.” Joking about drugs won't make us forget about your problems, Steven! It's been a long relationship and there are times when the band fades out and then gets back into the spotlight. The band has been together for 40 years, and yes, there is another album in the works. Should have thought ahead Alice Cooper may not have realized the limits of the internet or the height of his fame! AliceCooper.com crashed over the weekend, and throughout all of last week, when an unknown number of submissions flooded the site. The site was accepting submissions of “Sideshows and Freaks.” The servers seemed to be going in and out time and again throughout all of last week surely giving fans who submitted material some frustration. Fans were encouraged to submit their own videos of “sideshows and freaks” in hopes to take part in Cooper's Halloween Night of Fear shows scheduled in London. The IT team for the site has been working nonstop throughout the week and over the weekend, but even if the site was ready to go and accept submissions, the live tryouts are today. Way to plan and execute, Team Alice! Yeah … This may be an epic fail. Sorry for your luck, guys. You really should have allowed for more time … just sayin'.
