August 5, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop New Sabbath? 2010 has been the year of reunions. We've seen the coming together of the original line-up of Stone Temple Pilots and revamped Alice in Chains. Hell, even Bush is getting back together to put out new material. Well, news is breaking that Ozzy has said it is almost certain that Black Sabbath will get back together to make the “ultimate” album. In a recent interview, Ozzy said he wants to write another book called “I'm Still Ozzy” and he joked about making his first book “I Am Ozzy” into a motion picture with Denzel Washington playing the dark prince. Then, in true scatter brained fashion, he revealed that “It's very, very possible that the original SABBATH [members] are gonna finally [get together and] do the ultimate SABBATH album. And we're gonna do a tour, I think. When, I don't know. I spoke to Bill Ward [original SABBATHdrummer] yesterday, and we both say we never say 'never' anymore.” So keep your eyes out for that. We'll keep you posted! Forthcoming compilation Another band that reunited this year is Soundgarden, though we won't hear new stuff yet. “Telephantasm,” the proposed forthcoming collection of classics and unreleased tunes from the Seattle grunge legends, will be the first collection released from the group since 1996! The band has played several shows around the country, one was under the pseudonym Nudedragons, and it is speculated that they will be getting together for some much anticipated new material. If you need this ultimate collection, which is being released by the video game publishers Activision, be sure to grab it up September 28th. The album will be released inside the new video game “Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock,” marking the first time an album has been released bundled with a video game. There will also be several different versions of “Telephantasm” released, some just with a CD, others with 2 discs and a DVD with a collection of music videos. Next thing that needs to happen is an album with all new material. So, let's get it done, Soundgarden!
