BP Disaster Song

In support of the victims down in the Gulf, a new Buckcherry tune is available for fans to download from their forthcoming completed album “All Night Long.” Not sure what making a song available to download is going to do to get people back into fishing boats so they can make a living or soak up the oil, or hell, even stop the oil from spilling into the Gulf … but, whatever. The song “Our World” is considered by the band a panacea … for those who don't know what that is, it means a cure all. On their site www.buckcherry.com where the song is being made available, there will also be a bunch of links up with info about how you can help. Way to capitalize on a disaster, Buckcherry. What a bunch of self serving bastards.

Rambunctious fan

During a performance in Milan, Slash got assaulted by a fan who jumped up on stage. Fan shot video of the event from behind the stage shows Slash shredding away on the solo for Guns 'N Roses “Sweet Child of Mine” and then some more-than-likely drunk fan climbs up on stage, and seriously flies horizontally and tackles Slash, apparently knocking himself off the stage and breaking Slash's guitar. The band continues to play, appearing not to notice. Slash then reemerges on stage with a new guitar ready to rock. Maybe dude was pissed that Slash was playing GNR. Where the hell was security? That wouldn't fly around these parts, that's for sure. Security around here has spotters for crowd-surfers and search lights for smokers.

The MJ Effect

There's nothing like the death of a legend to help boost artists' record sales. We'll call it the Michael Jackson Effect. Ronnie James Dio's classic album “Holy Diver” has reemerged on the billboard charts, making it in the top 200 Also, getting up on the charts was Dio's greatest hits record “The Very Best of Dio.” Just like Jackson, Ronnie's death sparked a huge interest in his legendary vocal presence and rocking underworld visions.
