June 8, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Cheng waking up Good news on the Deftones front: Chi Cheng, their original bassist, is showing some signs of recovery. After nearly two years of being in a coma-like state after a tragic car accident doctors notes show that Cheng is showing some progress and neurological reactions to verbal stimuli. It appears that Cheng's doctors started him on a new revolutionary protocol of already approved medications and electric stimulation. The new treatment won't be cheap, however. Folks from www.OneLoveForChi.com are determined to raise $500,000 which would help cover the treatments that costs $2,000 a day. The Deftones had originally recorded a new album with Cheng before the accident and put that album in the vault. They then found a new bassist and recorder an entirely new album that was release earlier this year. The Deftones are set to tour with Alice in Chains and Mastodon this summer into the fall. Dr. Ozzy? Going on a bender for a few days is one thing, but for over 40 years?!?! That's why this is so bizarre, if you ask me! Ozzy Osborne is the new health-advice columnist opining on issues about your body for The Sunday Times. In response to being asked to write for the magazine, Ozzy was really shocked but, ultimately it made sense to him. The dark prince said “I've seen literally thousands of doctors over my lifetime, and spent well over £1m on them, to the point where I sometimes think I know more about being a doctor than doctors do. ” Hoping to teach others from mistakes he's made in the past, Dr. Ozzy will answer questions and provide commentary on health in his weekly post. I guess taking a bunch of prescription drugs, smoking dope and cigars like it's going out of style and touring the world with a rock band qualifies you to be a health columnist. Well, that should teach you aspiring doctors, that instead of going to medical school for years putting yourself into massive debt, you should just become a rock star, abuse the hell out of your body, and spend a ton of cash on doctors. Then you'll be qualified to write a health column. Catch the Music Minute every weekday with the Free Beer and Hot Wings Show on 92-7 WQLZ, the Rock Station. |
