June 3, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop No. 2 isn't No. 1 Not bad for being on hiatus for nearly all of the last decade. Stone Temple Pilots' new self-titled album landed at No. 2 on the Billboard charts. Within its first week of release, the self titled album sold over 62,000 copies to land the album, not only on top of the rock charts, but 2nd on the top 200! This is the band's 6th top 10. All their albums have landed on the top 10, except for their greatest hits album “Thank You.” Re-releasing gold Sevendust will be re-releasing their self-titled album that was certified gold back in 1999. The Atlanta quintet has been pumping out albums since 1997, making huge waves across the metal world. A re-issue of their debut album will be digitally remastered with 5 additional tracks and an accompanying DVD with never before released live footage. The tracks will include some tunes that have never been added to state-side releases. A special treat will be a cover of Alice Coopers' “School's Out.” Their debut self-titled album sold over 700,000 copies, certifying it as a gold album, and now even more sales will be tacked on to its sales with “Sevendust (Definitive Edition)”. Upcoming single Black Label Society will be releasing a new single later this month. “Parade of the Dead” brings new music for Wylde fans who have been patiently waiting through an emergency room visit, a new drummer and uncertainty in the band's future. The new album, “Order of the Black” has an August 10th release date already set up and ready to go. What's crazy about the planned release of “Order of the Black” is that there will be four distinctly different album covers for the four different regions the album will be released. Black Label Society will be headlining the second stage of the short-run OzzFest this year.
