May 28, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Wanna get closer So, were you wondering why nu-metalers Limp Bizkit canceled their summer tour? Me too. Well, it's simple, really. They don't want to do summer-time amphitheater shows where the audience is hundreds of yards away on a grassy knoll. In a statement released last week, the band said they want to provide the best concert experience possible. The best way to do that, according to the release, is to tour around visiting arenas so fans can be right up front of the stage. Limp Bizkit's past would hint at internal conflicts being a cause of the cancellation, but if they're wanting to tour this fall visiting arenas to get closer to the crowd and to get them hoppin', there's nothing wrong with that! Well, except for the hassle of having to get your initial amphitheater tickets refunded. But hey, they are “truly sorry for any inconvenience.” “Gold Cobra,” the first Bizkit album in years will be out sometime this summer. More branding If there is a limit to how much saturation the market can take when it comes to band merchandise, KISS would be the ones to find out ... and they have yet to find out. It's not just t-shirts, hats, and necklaces ... the band also has shoes, socks, designer jeans ... hell, they even have coffins for crying out loud. You want some KISS Legos? Or how about some KISS action figures? What about some KISS Mr. Potatoes Head dolls? They even have KISS candy and KISS pinball machines. This is just a small sampling of all the things KISS has to offer fans. Now, it is being reported that the legendary band is hooking up with Monster Mini Golf, a leader in manufacturing mini golf setups. This means the first ever KISS themed mini golf course that will be set up in the center of Sin City, Las Vegas. The special thing about Monster Mini Golf is it's reinvented the plain-jane mini golf course and moved it inside with blacklights, lazers, sound effects, music and more. Before we know it, a huge plot of land will be purchased next to Disney World for KISS World. You know that is being discussed right now, that's the only logical conclusion.
