May 27, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Making your scream Ozzy Osbourne had a little fun with some tourists in Manhattan. In promotion of his forthcoming album “Scream” Ozzy went to a wax museum where thousands of people go to look into the glass eyes of wax celebrities. The prince of darkness wasn't there to check out the latest Barack Obama wax statue or to inspect the was statue of himself or his wife … no, he was there to sit on a bench as still as possible and then to scare passersby when they tried to take a picture with what they thought was a wax sculpture of Ozzy Osbourne. No doubt the place was full of people's screams. The album “Scream” is due out June 22nd. It would have been interesting to see Ozzy try to do this type of promotion with the original album title, “Soul Sucka,” which was rejected by fans. Check out video of Ozzy making fans scream here. Who cares? If you watched last night's finale of American Idol, you're either p-whipped, fruity, or you were waiting to see someone from the audience tackle and strangle Simon. Regardless, if you indeed did watch “Idol” then you saw two mega rock stars, and ultra nice guys, perform. The chronically hospitalized front man for Poison, Bret Michaels, shared the stage with the original shock rocker, Alice Cooper. I guess that Alice has really gone soft as the thought of a shock rockers being on “Idol” cause some cognitive dissonance. Anyways, Michaels performed a duet with a former contestant on the song “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” while Cooper performed “School's Out” with the top 12 contestants parading around poorly with cheap choreography. *Editor's note: The author of the Music Minute apologizes for writing about American Idol.
