April 23, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop B-Real, being real The album has been out for over a year now, and you would think that it would be beyond the time to criticize it. But, I guess, if the album took 13 years to produce then it will have to have just as many years of criticism. B-Real, from Cyprus Hill is sounding off about Guns N' Roses latest album “Chinese Democracy.” In an interview with New York Hard Rock Examiner, one of the voices from the legendary trip-hop group said that the new album is not Guns N' Roses, calling the new band just Roses. Like the Van Halen, Van Hagar … and even Black Sabbath split, B-Real is a GNR purist. Talking about GNR did give B-Real the chance to send props out to Alice in Chains for their most recent change up and the ability of the band to continue being Alice in Chains. B-Real was just one of the many artists former GNR shredder Slash worked on with his new album. Special iTunes release The Deftones are releasing their album “Diamond Eyes” May 4th, which is just around the corner. Are you ready? I've already got my pre-order in for a CD to be sent to the homestead. But there will be a special release of the album exclusively on iTunes. If I didn't hate iTunes (the program) so much, I would grab this up. It's a good thing my girlfriend uses it. I'll just slip her some extra cash. The special version will have three extra tracks that will be covers performed by the band. The three songs covered will be “Do You Believe” by The Cardigans, “Ghosts” by Japan, and “Caress” by Drive Like Jehu. It doesn't matter what the songs are or who they were previously performed by—the Deftones will hook it up with their unique voice. Front man Chino told Spin.com about the forthcoming album “I'll strait-up say it: it's definitely one of our best albums.” This is the first album since the band's original bassist was put into a comatose state following a tragic car accident. The band may be going on tour with Alice in Chains and Mastodon very soon. Catch the Music Minute every weekday with the Free Beer and Hot Wings Show on 92-7 WQLZ, the Rock Station. |
