Tour rumor

This is probably nothing. I mean, weren't we always told to not believe rumors? Aren't they made up things to just get people to talk? Well, this could be just a rumor, but if true, it would be bad ass … and it is definitely getting us talking! It's beginning to spread online that Mastodon, Alice in Chains, and The Deftones will be going on tour. The rumor stems from a video that surfaced online. A video with indistinguishable audio clips of various rock riffs meshed together in no particular order or pattern accompanying a video of out-of-focus wings with a gritty scene finishes with a website URL: black diamond skye.com. Reports indicate that the official line-up for whatever is being promoted will be May 3rd. However, the website has 7 days counting down by the second (which would make the anouncement on April 29th). Now, this isn't just some crazy speculation. The web site URL of www.blakcdiamondskye.com can be broken into three words; black, diamond, and skye. Alice in Chains latest album is “Black Gives Way to Blue.” The Deftones forthcoming album will be “Diamond Eyes.” And, Mastondon's most recent album, released in 2009, is called “Crack the Skye.” Get it? Black, Diamond, Skye? The rumor is most certainly true ... which as stated earlier ... is bad ass!

Taking a break

After releasing a funky and fresh album that was recorded in front of a live studio audience last year, it is being reported that The Black Crowes will be on an indefinite hiatus after a brief tour later this year. This means, you are more than likely not going to hear much, if anything at all, form the guys. The hiatus will follow a tour later this year called “Say Goodbye to the Bad Guys.” The tour is scheduled to start up in August and will run throughout December. There are thoughts already of having a 30 year reunion gathering for the band, but guitarist Rich Robinson is saying the band would much rather just walk away while everyone is in a good mood.
