April 15, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop New album out soon There's horror movies, horror-core, and horror-rock. There's also horror-punk and the band that best embodies the ideals of horror-punk is the Murderdolls. The much anticipated sophomore album from horror-punk rockers Murderdolls is closer to release than you may be ready for. The band have finished up the recording process for their new album that was recorded deep inside Hollywood Hills. “Woman and Children Last,” the name of their second album, the first in 8 years (which is crazy to think about), doesn't yet have a release date. But, vocalist Wednesday 13 said the album is chock full of songs derived from demos spanning over the past 8 years. Guitarist Joey Jordison, who is also Slipknot's drummer, will be hitting the road this summer—not with Murderdolls, but rather Jordison will be drumming for horror-rock legend and Hollywood director Rob Zombie out on tour with the Mayhem Festival. Rock star cameo Buckcherry front man Josh Todd is transcending rock stardom and becoming a network TV Actor—well at least for a brief moment. Todd will be featured in Fox's drama Bones, playing a rock star at Rock Star Fantasy Camp where a murder, and subsequent investigation, takes place. Interestingly Rock Star Fantasy Camp will soon be taking place in real life where fans will be able to hang out and play with members from Queen, Pink Floyd, Bad Company, and a bunch of others. In real life, the fantasy camp takes place at the end of May. On TV, the murder investigation that takes place in the fantasy Rock Star Fantasy Camp April 29. On a side, a new Buckcherry album is in the works. Released from hospital Ladies, have no fear, Bret Michaels is free and clear … well probably not free, but he's out the hospital at last. After having to cancel a show at the San Antonio Sea World because of severe stomach pains, the life long diabetic was rushed into emergency surgery for acute appendicitis.
