Crue fan commits murder

An ever burning question has plagued society for a very long time. Does media influence the behavior of individuals? If you play a shooter game, you more than likely will not go on a rampage. If you watch a horror movie, you will more than likely not go out and become a serial killer. Now, if you listen to the Insane Clown Posse, will you inevitably become a juggalo or juggalette? What about if you go to a metal show? You may get into the mosh pit for a romping good time … but it's all in good fun. How about if you listen to Motely Crue? Will that make you a murderer? Apparently a Canadian man who had changed his name to Nikki Sixx Serafino has been charged with second degree murder for the shooting death of man 11 months ago. Police learned that Serafino was a fan of the Crue and are not sure yet as to how that works into the motive of the murder. Maybe it's time for Martin Barshir to interview the Crue as he did with ICP.

Alice in Chains ... or the studio

After a long hiatus and a successful return to the scene with a new album last year, Alice in Chains is thinking about putting together another new album. Cantrell told MTV News that “staying in the moment is a good way to live” and the band hopes they can get into the studio, even just to see how far they get. When asked about all the reunions of 90s grunge and alternative rock bands happening this year, MTV News asked the guitarist and front man if that genre was making a comeback. Cantrell responded that it has always been out in front. Just because those bands were not around for any given period of time does not mean they weren't making music. By the way, “Black Gives Way to Blue” has sold over 407,000 copies since its release September of last year.
