April 5, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop "Enough about your album, let's talk about Axl" Slash says “Chinese Democracy” was the perfect Axl album. In an interview with the New York Post about Slash's new solo album, the questions about Axl could not be overlooked. When elaborating on the 2008 release from Guns N' Roses, Slash said in the final years he had worked with Axl he could see the road Rose was headed down. Slash said “It's very heavy; sort of a dark, depressing record. He's f**king phenomenal”… I say it is the perfect Axl album because it took forever to put out, was over hyped and wrought with problems. Meanwhile, footage of Axl slipping and falling during a show in Bogota, Columbia surfaced online. If you're up to seeing a falling star and all its glory, be sure to watch that the clip of Guns N' Roses March 30th performance on Youtube. Big buildup for STP They're going all out with their forthcoming release, and fans who have waited for nearly a decade will surely be pleased with what is being offered. The release date for the self-titled Stone Temple Pilots album is May 25 and there are a bunch of different ways you can get out there and pick it up. The album will be available with an expanded artwork layout and 2 bonus tracks. At Target, fans will be able to pick up the album with an accompanying DVD with special interviews and other content. At Walmart stores, fans will be able to pick up the album and hang out in the store to see special recorded STP Footage on their many big screens. Now, if you don't want to hang out in Walmart to see the STP footage (and I don't blame you), it will also be made available online at Walmart's Soundcheck website. Besides all the big things planned with the release of the album, STP also has huge plans for late night TV. The band will perform on “Late Show with David Letterman” May 19th and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” May 25th. If you didn't get a chance to see them play in Chicago recently, the March 27th show from the Riviera will air on VH1 and MTV2 sometime late may.
