New line-up

It can always get a little rocky when a band has a shake up in their line-up. Trivium recently went through this with their drummer Travis Smith and it sparked some no B.S. questions from rock journalists. According to Corey Beaulieu, Trivium's guitarist, on the recent headlining tour drummer Travis mentioned that he did not want to be on the next tour. His departure would have essentially split the band up. Trivium knew at that point a new drummer would be needed. They then brought in Nick Augousto to play the skins and knew that getting a new drummer was the route to go, rather than dissolve the band. So, that's the story of why Trivium got rid of their old drummer Travis and brought on new drummer Nick. If you want to hear more about Trivium and maybe get some insight on the band's change up, tune in to The Mosh Pit with Goose on WQLZ April 10th at midnight to hear Trivium vocalist Matt Heafy.

On stage disaster

Is it a sign that he not only fell off the wagon, but maybe jumped headfirst? On Friday, in Milwaukee, Stone Temple Pilots performed for fans in what is being called a disaster, according to critics. At a Stone Temple Pilots fan site, a review was posted that acknowledged Weiland seemed to be slurring in between songs but the band performed wonderfully, and according to the review, the show was very enjoyable ... up until Dead and Bloated was performed. This is when Scott lost everything (lyrics and melody) and the band tried to do some jammy part of the song to hopefully get back on track, but that never happened. Video of the incident was posted on YouTube but has since been taken down with a copyright infringement notice from Warner Music. The review continues that Scott seemed fine at the beginning of the show, but by the acoustic portion he was behind the beat and sounded like a drunkard. Assuredly, the self-titled album due out May 25th, will not be a disaster ... well, let's just hope, anyway.
