Unauthorized

If you like to read and are also a Metallica fan, you are one in a million. But instead of getting a cookie for your efforts, how about reading a book? A new, unauthorized biography about Metallica front man James Hetfield will be out soon. “James Hetfield: The Wolf at Metallica's Door” will be out April 22nd. Scottish author Mark Eglinton dug deep into Hefield's past, interviewing many key figures who had an impact on young Jimmy. Childhood friends aren't the only people the author interviewed for this unique look into Hetfield's life, fellow rockers take on their associate's life will also be included. Pick up the book to read what members of Anthrax, Alice in Chains, and Pantera have to say about the legendary, yet secretive Metallica front man.

Another new song

A new Deftones album is just around the corner and another new song has been released to stream online. A few weeks ago, the single “Rocket Skates” was released for free download. Then a video was released for the track (view the scintillating video here). Well now there is a new tune out and it just so happens to be the title track, “Diamond Eyes” (listen to the song below). The album, titled “Diamond Eyes,” will be available April 17th. The band had an album already recorded with original bassist Chi Cheng, but the album release was postponed because in 2008 Chi got into a serious car accident that left him in a “minimally conscious” state. So, while the band waits for Chi to come back around to release the new album and tour, Deftones recorded an entirely new album with a new bassist Sergio Vega. Front man Chino Mereno told AOL's Noisecreep that the band almost called it quits after Chi's accident, but they decided to push forward with a fresh batch of songs.
