February 24, 2010 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Awesome line up I don't know about you, but I'm super stoked about this. The new Cyprus Hill album, “Rise Up,” should be bad-ass. With a bunch of surprise guests, the first Cyprus Hill album in years will surely grab attention from across all genres. Guests to appear on the album include Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morrello, Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, System of a Down's Daron Malakian and even comedian greats Cheech and Chong are expected to appear on the album. You should be able to pick up your copy of “Rise Up” on April 6th. Solo album It's always fascinating when band members break away from their original crew to produce a solo album. It's really interesting when the member breaks away from the band for a moment in time to release material that is drastically different from the music fans originally associate with them. He's still with Korn, but bassist Fieldy has been busy outside the band. He hopes to release “Basically” later this year. He insists the album is not a heavy album and doesn't want Korn fans looking for another Korn album to pick up the album and trash it because it is not Korn. He plans on producing a free flowing jazz fusion piece that cuts across many musical influences. It should be a good listen. Lasting legacy After the world blows up and all life as we know it no longer exists … and after thousands of years of animals ruling the earth with skyscrapers overrun by vegetation, the aliens that end up on earth to use up our natural resources will know who AC/DC was! Not only are they one of the longest living, largest traveling and ultra bad-ass bands of all time, they are also breaking records. The Australian natives have finally put Bono in his proper place, at number two. The band officially became the largest selling outdoor act in Australia, selling over 212,000 tickets for a three day show later this year.
