July 3, 2009 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop New single You’ve been hearing about it and now you can stream it online till your heart’s content. The latest single “Jars” from Chicago’s Chevelle is available at the bands MySpace page where you can listen to it over and over and over again. Be sure to friend up! Critics are calling their new album “Sci-fi Crimes” the heaviest Chevelle album to date, but the bands owns it up to the use of vintage amps during the album’s production. Record sales The new self titled Killswitch Engage album is on track to be quite the seller. Reports indicate that in its first week of sales, “Killswitch Engage” could sell up to 55,000 albums. That is great for the Massachusetts rockers, but not quite as good as their last album, “As Daylight Dies,” which sold nearly 60,000 copies in its first week. Unfortunately, this massive achievement more than likely will be overshadowed by the sales of Michael Jackson albums … Another postponement And another show, another reschedule. The injury that caused a postponement for rock legends Aerosmith in Cincinnati has caused their Sunday show in Virginia Beach to not happen. If this keeps up, they may just have to go on another tour entirely, if they can handle it. The specifics of the injury have not yet been released. Catch the Music Minute every weekday with the Free Beer and Hot Wings Show on 92-7 WQLZ, the Rock Station. |
