June 26, 2009 Music News from the Rock Station, 92-7 WQLZ by Bishop Soundgarden rumors Any rumors you may have heard of a Soundgarden reunion may or may not be legitimate. The confusion began several months ago when a source from the inside told the Pulse of Radio, a music news outpost, that the 90s era grunge band was going to get together for a reunion. Even though there was no confirmation, Soundgarden’s bass player, drummer and guitarist performed onstage with someone who was not Chris Cornell. To add to the confusion, the lead singer of Shinedown was interviewed by Kerang Magazine and he mentioned that there was going to be a Soundgarden reunion. What does Shinedown have to do with this? Well, nothing according to a text from Soundgarden’s bassist Ben Shepherd who basically told the lead singer of Shinedown to ‘eff off. Jacko’s dead And, as the news broke yesterday afternoon, and as you will hear what will surely be months of wall-to-wall news coverage, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson has passed away. With more than a dozen No. 1 singles, countless albums, and a longer career than Elvis, Jacko apparently died of a cardiac arrest. Jackson had a 50 day overseas concert blitz planned for next month which is now, obviously, not going to happen.
