Recovering

Maria Brink is still recovering from a Tuesday car accident. The screaming sex symbol who fronts In This Moment revealed on her Facebook page that she was involved in a vehicle crash that ultimately led to an emergency room visit. All is fine as she updated fans the following morning that she feels great and doesn't even need the pain killers she got from the hospital. According to her post she was stopped at a stop light and some dude plowed into her rear end going 55 mph.

Projected sales

“Asylum” has only been out for a few days and it already is projected to top the charts. Disturbed's 10th anniversary will be marked by a No.1 selling record completely dominating all other releases. Experts estimate the album could sell between 145,000 – 160,000 copies within the first week. Just to provide some perspective as to how huge this is for Disturbed … Papa Roach's new release is only expected to sell a little over 10,000 copies the first week Disturbed's previous three albums have all debuted at No. 1 on the charts, selling well over 200,000 copies each. Meanwhile over four million copies of their debut album released in 2000 has transferred from store to fans' CD players. The Chicago natives have been on the road with the Rock Star Energy Drink Uproar Festival.

Streaming album

Stone Sour's forthcoming “Audio Secrecy” is streaming online. The album is due out September 7th, so if you can wait, stream the album below. The band has been previewing several songs from the new album while out on the road with the Rock Star Energy Drink Uproar Festival.

Detroit rot city

The forthcoming Kid Rock album will be taking on somewhat of a somber tone. Unlike much of Rock's other material where partying and a trailer-park lifestyle reigns supreme, “Born Free” will focus on the hardships felt by his hometown Detroit. It won't just be about the fall of Detroit, but Rock said the unreleased album will be his “thoughts on the world through the lens of Detroit.” This album is being touted as a “transformational” album and will be a reflection of the times all while still having soul. Rock will bring in a cast of co-stars for the record including Bob Seger, Sheryl Crow, Zac Brown, Trace Adkins, and Chad Smith just to name a few. Expect to see more hype about the album as it is released November 16th.

Paul would want a new album

The death of Paul Gray won't keep the maniacs from Slipknot down. Drummer Joey Jordison, coming off a new Murder Dolls album and touring with Rob Zombie playing drums, has said there will be another Slipknot album. In the same interview, Jordison proclaimed with the excesses of rock stardom and substance abuse there were many times where his fate could have been the same as Gray's who died several months ago. But with Paul in mind, Jordison, who recently was voted one of the best drummers of all time, said “we're still dealing with the passing of Paul, God rest his soul ... Paul would never want us to not make another Slipknot record.” No word as to when a new Slipknot album would be out as front man Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root are still out with Stone Sour, Jordison with Murder Dolls and Rob Zombie and even DJ Sid has his own album coming out.

Dispelling accusations

Over the weekend, Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland debuted a new clothing line in Toronto, Canada. Today, he's defending himself from lip syncing rumors. The dreaded art is usually reserved for pop artists with elaborate choreographed dance sequences. The back tracking accusations against the STP front man came after Weiland pulled a Tyler and fell of a stage in Cincinatti last week without missing a note. A few days following, Weiland addressed the rumors while on stage in Pittsburg. Blaming the rumor mill known as the “interwebs,” Weiland said “We are a rock and roll band, [and] rock and roll bands perform live.” Well, I guess we'll put that one to bed.

Out tomorrow

Tomorrow, be sure to hit up your independent record store to pick up Disturbed's forthcoming release “Asylum.” The much anticipated album marks the 10 year anniversary of the Chicago metalers. Not only will you be able to pick up the new album Tuesday, you'll also be able to tune in to a live webstream on Ustream at 4:30 CST where the band will answer fan submitted questions. Maybe you could ask front man David Draiman about his detest for rock stars who have an affinity towards collecting Nazi paraphernalia (he's not a big fan as his grand parents where victims of WWII concentration camps). Currently they are out on tour headlining the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Dirty laundry

If you are like me, you have absolutely no fashion sense. Well, enter Stone Temple Pilots' front man Scott Weiland and a new line of clothes for all of us who are fashion illiterate. Weiland's troubled past may play into his clothing line “Weiland for English Laundry” with exhortation over the top frills and unique flavors perfect for the fall months. This new line of clothes “blends the classic style and high quality of English Laundry with the design flare of the iconic, fashionable STP front man.” The Weiland hooked up with English Laundry designer Christopher Wicks to debut this new line of rock star apparel at a fashion show in Toronto, Canada, on Sunday.
