Bush pardons two turkeys. Could one of them be George Ryan? Sen. Durbin says he is considering commutation for former Gov. George Ryan. Gov. Blagojevich could be seeking sympathy from Illinois voters by reaching across the isle to agree with commutation. Former Gov. Thompson also seems to be on board with commutation. Did you know Thompson's law firm helps defend Ryan? *Caller notes this could be psy-ops by Sen. Durbin to stick it to the Illinois Government Machine.

Closure of the Dana Thomas House may be the wrong address ... why don't we shut down the Gov. Mansion! Also, are we re-writing history by wanting to move the House that Lincoln owned? Maybe they shouldn't have agreed on that adjustable mortgage.

There is chaos in India where several sites witnessed ghastly terror attacks by gunmen with bombs. the death count is over 200 including up to 20 possible gunmen. Reports indicate there is a Pakistani link. India continues to investigate, but what about the initial warnings that preceded the attacks. These should be focused on. Also, how can the Problem Reaction Solution paradigm play a role in this? Or is this just a conflict over Kashmir?

President Elect Obama has given 4 press conferences since "winning" the election. 3 have been just this week about the economy. He is nominating Clintonians and former Fed Governors to key positions of advisory boards. Is this really the change voters expected? Its more of the same of what I expected.

Reasons for being late

Here's the scenario ... you work early mornings, you take a nap mid afternoon ... you wake after 2 hours, look at the clock and think you are late for work the next morning.  Your heart races, you hunt down some clothes, you grab your phone to call explain why you are late to work ...

What do you say? - Take the poll: What is the best reason for being late to work?

Of course this happened to me last night!  As I am running around like a Thanksgiving turkey with it's head cut off, my girlfriend asks what's wrong ... I ask, is it 6A or 6P?  Sure enough ... it was still evening!  That feeling sucks!

Disclaimers

Watching your allotted time for TV, you are bound to see not just one, but many drug commercials.  Some could be late night male enhancement 'natural supplements' that do not necessarily need a disclaimer ... while others during prime time could be for a better heart, or for stronger bones.

Why is it that when you see a drug commercial on TV, when the disclaimer or side effects are narrated, the actors in the commercial are always happy go lucky and very active?  Is it different when you hear the spot, without the visuals?

And - What are you thankful for this year? 

Personally, I am thankful for my health, relationships, family, knowledge, jobs, and life ... now if we could just get a little more freedom, justice and liberty I will be ecstatic!

Have you ever tried to end a service, be it telephon, cable, or Internet? I tried to cancel a cell phone line on Friday and I really wish I could have recorded the converstation leagally. Every attempt was made to keep me on board even after my multiple explanations for cancelation. Has this happened to you?

The 45th Anniversary of the assassination of JFK is today. What are the prevailing theories out there? Should we believe the deathbed confession a former CIA operative claiming to be a "bench warmer" for the "big event"?

Also, the "End the Fed" rally took place today across the country. Why should we end the fed? Will these types of protests bring about public awareness on the level needed for true change?

Do you remember being shown PSA's as a kid. Maybe some of the ones we cover will jolt your memory. Just how silly are these Public Service Announcements? Will pornography, bad hygiene, homosexuality, and drugs be the end of society? What about the "big bomb"?

Sarah Palin pardoned a turkey the other day ... but the interview conducted in her home town shows something goin' on in the background that just doesn't make much sense, considering she pardoned a turkey. Also, Ted Stevens is now a convicted felon ... why the hell is he getting applause on the House Floor?

Also, our government is considering more "rescue" plans and also another stimulus payment ... what are some of the other things government wastes money on?

Being a student, as many adults are in today's society, what are some of your pet peeves in the classroom? Is it the guy who blows his nose in the middle of a lecture? Or the girl who texts her boyfriend every ten minutes? What about the bumbling intellectual that can't quite spit the words out?

What are some of the stupid causes people fight for? Before we get to that ... an example of a great cause and a fascinating story:

In my class Democratization and the Public Sphere, we learned about the Zapatistas, and the theatrical demonstration they performed January 1st, 1994 in protest of NAFTA. The indigenous people where fighting for recognition, not just for them, but for all disenfranchised people around the world. It worked, they were recognized and the Mexican government to this day still has to deal with them. This is comparable to the struggles against slavery, or child labor, or an eight hour work day ... you know, causes for human rights.

But what about the flip side? What are some of the stupid causes people fight for? "Lobsters are people too", or "vegetation rights" or how about "global warming?"

A new flick out called Zach and Miriam Make a Porno shows the desperation people can have when funds are low and bills pile up. What would you do for money? Times are tight and money is hard to come by. With the Holiday season just around the corner, have you thought about getting a second or maybe a third job?

There are some concerns about the continuation of some of president Bush's signing statements. We had this conversation a while ago, but with a new Admin stepping into the White House, what are some of the things you expect President-Elect Obama to do? Will he end the Iraq War? Will he close Guantanamo? Will he end the USA PATRIOT Act?

What does the meeting of the Group of 20 Mean? Will this usher in a Global Central Bank?

We talked breifly about the Yes Men on Friday Session, but I feel it is important to cover it again. These types of protests are very effective. Don't you think so?

A topic to alienate many: Help me understand the sports craze. I appreciate we all need entertainment, and the teamwork it teaches children is fantastic but somebody needs to justify professional athletes' salaries to me. I just don't get it.

A list of the top 15 websites for the "Y" generation has been released by Outlaw Consultants. What are these sites, why are they the top 15 ... and who the hell is the "Y" generation anyways?

Have you seen this? A parody of the New York Times was handed out to commuters in Manhattan the other day. This news paper looks legit, but with closer inspection you see it is a hoax.
