Hotel horror stories

With a ton of people planning to travel for the holiday weekend, surely some of you will be staying a hotel. Let's start the show sharing some of the most ridiculous, outrageous and unbelievable horror stories from hotel stays. Bishop's got a few, including staying with old friends in a suite from this past weekend to a bomb threat at a small town hotel years ago.

Celebrity garbage

To keep Kramer's listeners up to date about the latest celebrity nonsense, tune in to find out the latest on Vince Neil's DUI, the case of Led Zeppelin ripping of folk tunes, Lil Wayne's time behind bars, Tiger's divorce, and some of the biggest celebrity divorce deals out there!

Facebook great for divorce attorneys

Speaking of divorce, and relationships in general, find out how attorneys are using social networking sites in presenting adultery or other divorce inducers. Without giving too much info (you can provide all the info you want), what has been your experience with relationships and social networking sites?

Tech news

We talked about the difference between Macintosh and PCs yesterday and you guys were on the ball! Let's continue some of that today but let's bring in a bunch of different tech news. Included in the line up of news is the White House's push for online IDs, a mom is freaked out by Google's street view capture her naked toddler, and Microsoft dropping one of their crappy phones, the Kin.

Immigration: Bishop's take

Kramer brings up the immigration debate quite a bit on the show. He even went as far to offer up t-shirts with the saying "Got Papers? Los Papers Por Favor." Well, to keep the debate alive in anticipation of Obama's speech about immigration, Bishop will give you the latest news concerning illegal immigration and what is being done about it.

Screaming up the charts

It its first week of sales, Ozzy's new album “Scream” has been rocketing up the charts with tens of thousands of sales. The only places the album hasn't breached the top 10 on the charts is Australia and the UK. In the US, “Scream” sold 81,000 copies and landed at No. 4 on the charts. On why you won't hear Zakk Wylde on the new album; Ozzy revealed earlier this week that the real reason he and Wylde separated was because of the rampant alcohol use from the legendary metal shredder. Earlier interviews seemed to hint that their relationship had run its course, but Ozzy expressed to Guitar World that it was indeed the alcohol abuse that the dark prince wanted to get away form. He admitted it was difficult to stay sober around someone who was constantly drinking.

Driving contradiction

Speaking of drinking, he was pulled over this past weekend on Las Vegas' strip and cited with a DUI while cruising around in his Lamborghini. Well, Vince Neil's new album “Tattoos and Tequila” has debuted at No. 57 selling just around 7,500 copies. The Motely Crue front man's solo album is a mix of a few original tunes including the title track and “Another Bad Day,” but mainly cover tunes from greats like Elvis Presley, ZZ Top, Aerosmith and even Elton John. Be sure to check out the video for “Tattoos and Tequila.” In a recent interview Neil said that the album has nothing to do with Motely Crue. “It's rock 'n' roll. That's it ... Tattoos and tequila is basically my life.” This statement made of course after he said he has been off drugs for 20 years and quit abusing alcohol. Not sure if there is a contradiction there ... you be the judge.

The Kramer Show with Bishop

June 30, 2010

Keith Kramer is off for a while to take in some R&R, so Bishop will be filling in from 3 to 6p CST on 970 WMAY. Tune in online at WMAY dot com.

Illuminaiti Motor Work's knocked out

Kevin form Illuminati Motor Works will join the show at 5pm to talk about the most recent round of the X-Prize where IMW was up for a $5 million cash purse. IMW built their vehicle Seven from the ground up to be a completely electrically driven commercially viable car. Find out how the team from Divernon made it on the international scene with their car and how they, unfortunately, didn't make the cut. Also, find out what is next for the crew from Illuminati Motor Works!

... in the meantime:

The internet is doomed

Have you heard about the Internet Kill Switch? If you're an avid user of the net and are concerned about the future, be it reclassifying the net so the FCC can have more power or the prospects of Net Neutrality, then you need to tune in and take part in the conversation about the internet and why it is so important to free speech.

.XXX

Also, tune in to find out about a new Internet top-level domain proposed for porno which could create a new red light district online. A consortium of advocates that have stake in the proposed domain extensions claim the .xxx domain will make it easier to filter out. But industry experts (pornographers) say it will create an internet ghetto for porno. What do you think?

Politicos are perverts

From the accusations about Al Gore to what's going on with the Edwards ... politicians are crazy perverts that don't know how to manage their relationships. It's not just the dems, but the repubs as well. Remember Mark Foley, Larry Craig and the whole cast of degenerates?

Plus, there are stories of the elites dancing around in the woods naked at the Bohemian Grove club, a 2 week retreat of drunken debauchery where the elite go to play.

Provocateurs at the G20

If you missed out on the news from over the weekend, there was a meeting of the Group of 20 up in Toronto, Canada. This group gets together to talk about the world's economy and how to steer it appropriately. Critics argue that the G20 (and G8, WTO, etc.) do not guide things with concern of indigenous or disenfranchised people in mind. So, tens of thousands of people typically turn out to protest the group. Well, over the past decade things have gotten out of hand.

There seems to be a precedent set to discredit the protesters by using police agent provocateurs (not to be confused with the hot line of lingerie Agent Provocateur). It was admitted that undercover agents wielding rocks showed up to a NAU summit in Canada back in 2007, and it is apparent at this weekend's meeting where several police cars were set on fire while police are nowhere to be seen. Tune in to hear a breakdown of how the tactic of the "Black Bloc" is used as a catalyst for extreme police actions against peaceful protests. Be sure to watch some of the independent media accounts of the weekend's protests and the possible provocateur actions as reported by Press for Truth, Canada: part 1 & part 2.

Why Apple sucks

For years, Macintosh has held the title for being the go to computer for graphic, audio and video production. The Apple brand definitely has its devoted users and supporters, but are their products really worth all the hype? With the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, does Apple have an advantage over the competing Android technology? Sound off this afternoon on the Kramer Show.

Live from downtown

Don't miss The Kramer Show this afternoon live from the Downtown Studio on S. 5th Street in Springfield only on 970 WMAY, the News and Talk of Springfield.

Not broken

Rumors spreading around of Breaking Benjamin breaking up are unfounded, according to a statement by the front man on the band's Facebook page. Benjamin Burnley said about the rumors of a break up, “This is just a false rumor that, through the miracle of modern technology, has unfortunately spread.” The front man continues in the post to say he is taking some time off to attend to some health issues. Even though, he does have several solo acoustic shows planned this summer, that doesn't mean he is done with the band. Benjamin may be broken and needing some medical treatment, but Breaking Benjamin is still together.

Forthcoming album

Disturbed's most recent attempt has been announced. The album “Asylum” will be out August 31st. Front man David Draiman said the album is definitely a more matured Disturbed, but it is still Disturbed. “We feel this is one of the strongest bodies of work we've ever put together. It definitely goes in familiar areas, but with new levels of precision and skill.” Draiman also went on to say that the theme's of the album are everything from self reflection to provocative politics. “No songs about puppy dogs or rainbows here.” The first single “Another Way to Die” jumps into the very controversial issue of global warming “and our irresponsibility in doing what we do as a species, and our constant appetite, our constant consumption at all costs.” Draiman even went on to criticize the current disaster in the Gulf where oil is continuing to gush from a blown out well. The band will be out on the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. Still not clear if Disturbed will join the band wagon of boycotting BP like Korn and the rest of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Not quite a reunion

Last week's news of Bush getting back together was big news, but now it is coming out that it won't be a true reunion. Nigel Pulsford and Dave Parsons are being replaced by Chris Traynor and Corey Britz. But, that doesn't matter as long as Gavin's handsome face is still out front, right ladies? Bush's album should be out this fall with a show scheduled in the Golden State this summer.

Busted!

You drink you drive, you lose! Someone should have told that to Vince Neil! After proclaiming just last week that he was sober and saying that “there is more to life than drugs and alcohol,” Vince Neil was popped for driving his Lamborghini under the influence. At least he was busted in a bad ass car! The 49-year-old was taken in off the Las Vegas strip Sunday shortly after an altercation where a someone's camera was smashed. Police were already looking for Neil as the suspect in that camera smashing. Neil had just said last week that he has been off drugs for 20 years and that he had stopped abusing alcohol. Ironically, the Motley Crue front man has been working on a solo album called “Tattoos and Tequila,” and will be releasing that album in September. Neil owns several tattoo parlors so maybe this DUI was some kind of crazy publicity stunt. Be sure to check out his mugshot!

Back into the studio

Rob Zombie taking on some new band mates to tour with seems to have turned out better than he imagined. The horror rocker/director is headed into the studio with his live band featuring Murderdolls' Wednesday 13 and Slipknot's Joey Jordison. He said that “These are some of the fastest, heaviest tracks we have recorded in a long, long time. These songs will available in September.” It is unclear if Zombie will live up to his word in no longer releasing CDs. Could these be digitally released? Let's just hope! Zombie will be out on tour with the live band this summer for the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, headlining alongside Korn.

Highway to Hell resolution

They've been fired! Remember the story from last month where AC/DC's caravan was stopped on a roadway in Romania, told to pay a toll of a couple thousand dollars, then allowed to go forward? Well, there has been some resolution from that hinky story of the highway from hell! The group of four idiots who thought it would be a good idea to 'eff around with the world's biggest rock stars have been fired while another civil service employee involved in the case has been demoted. Now they should all be thrown into a dark dungeon and tortured with crappy food and Lady Gaga and forced to write on the black board “we do not treat our Australian rock star guests that way” over and over again. AC/DC's troupe was told to pay 2,500 euros and never received a receipt. It's not clear if they received a refund, but they
should have gotten blood!

Rowdy bunch

Last week, central Illinois and the whole world witnessed history happen on the big screen. After a couple of decades of touring the world and rocking peoples socks off, The Big Four played several shows over in Europe and their show in Bulgaria was broadcasts around the globe! Well, the anger, frustration and rage that Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica exude seemed to have been too much for one central Illinois audience to handle. Have you heard about this? Well, down in Batavia, Illinois, close to the end of the four-and-a-half-hour show police were called in to take care of some rowdy patrons. Apparently some of the peeps broke a seat, tore up armrests on other seats and poked holes in the screen. Police were also told by theater management that people were drinking alcohol in the theater and illicitly filming the broadcast. No one was arrested and refunds were issued. Way to not let us down, Big Four fans! You really showed the world your true colors!

Saturday Session with Bishop

June 26, 2010

Despite a busy week and a quick jaunt to Chicago for a show, your three hours of influence is on! Tune in online at WMAY dot com from 4 to 7pm CST for Saturday Session with Bishop. You can catch live streaming video of what is happening inside the studio from Bishop's web cam (only available from 4 - 7p CST). You too can take part in the conversation with Saturday Session by calling 217.629.7970 or emailing Bishop@wmay.com

News on the march

With leaks again on Session's focus this week (Wikileaks and Big Slick in the Gulf), a need to understand that the war in Afghanistan is a lost cause, and the G20 summit tearing apart the freedoms of the world's people, News on the march will start us off! Catch the stories you may have missed from throughout the week that are of grave importance! Get the stories you may have missed with "Bishop's Shared Items" ----->

Big Slick keeps a leakin'

Two months and one week have gone by and she is still gushing. Why are people still lined up at BP gas stations? Is that just a symptom of our ever increasing need for oil? How did that 6 month moratorium go there, Mr. President? Why is BP not being charged with criminal negligence? Was there a story earlier this week about Oil Rain? Oh boy! It just keeps getting worse!

Defending leaks

Keeping a close eye on the Wikileaks situation, find out where founder Julian Assange's latest attempts to protect the accused leaker are ending up. Also, with the Pentagon wanting to talk with Assagne, will he be coming back to the states ... ever? Assange has hinted at even more devastating releases soon to come. Will this open sourced information be what turns people against the war and the oppressive war state?

The war is f**ked

The news this week was focused on the ousting of Afghan War Gen. Stanley McChrystal over an article that appeared in Rolling Stone Magazine. The mainstream buzz focused on some of the choice descriptions McChrystal and his staff used about administration officials. But what about the war that has now lasted longer than the Vietnam War? Are tax-payer dollars going to fund the terrorists we proclaim to be over their fighting?

The Group of 20

The G8 summit was yesterday. Today, the G20 meets to discuss how more centralization will be good for the world's economy. All of this globalization being guided from above meanwhile those below are being check for weapons by security forces carrying thousands of dollars of weapons around in public. Why is the G20 summit on such great lock down? What do they really fear?

TO MANY QUESTIONS AND NOT ENOUGH ANSWERS!

New Serj

After a successful run performing his original rock tunes with a symphony, Serj Tankian is back with some new stuff. The self-produced album “Imperfect Harmonies” is the follow up to the politically minded rocker's “Elect the Dead.” Wanna hear the first single? Swing on by Serj's website, sign up your email, and you'll be able to download “Borders Are.” The website opens up with a map showing borders disappearing, playing into Serj's philosophy of world-wide community spirit in the face of oppressive forces projecting old traditions of nationalism onto people across the globe.

"Gun Show"

The sexy rocker Maria Brink and her boys from In This Moment have released the video for their new single “The Gun Show.” The song is about “self respect, staring anyone else in the eye, and basically a theme of a showdown,” according to Brink. The video is a bunch of cowboys (or cowgirls) getting together in the desert for a little fun with guns. The southern California rockers third album “Star-crossed Wasteland” will be out July 13th in the states. In This Moment will be out on tour with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Helping out

A couple of notable noble acts from rockers include Buckcherry's push to help oil spill victims and Papa Roach's desire to help the homeless and hungry. Buckcherry is making their song “Our World” from the forthcoming album “All Night Long” available through iTunes. All the proceeds from the song will go to help out those effected by Big Slick in the gulf, both human and animal. Buckcherry's album will be out August 3rd. Meanwhile, Papa Roach will be making a message crystal clear on their forthcoming album “Time for Annihilation … On the Record and On the Road.” The album, which is a mix of live and studio recordings, will feature a track of front man Jacoby Shaddix pleading listeners to get out their cell phones to text a $5 donation to WhyHunger, an organization fighting hunger and poverty since 1975. Homelessness strikes home for Shaddix as he suffered through that situation as a child. Papa Roach's album will be out August 31st and if you can't wait to donate, call 1-866-3-HUNGRY.

Bush reunites

2010 is definitely proving to be the year of reunions. Gavin Rossdale made that even more clear this morning when he announced on LA radio that Bush will be getting back together this year. This fall, expect to see the first new album from the band in nine years, tentatively titled "Everything Always Now." Rossdale previewed the first single "Afterlife" on LA's airwaves Wednesday morning. More details on Bush's tour and album are forthcoming.

An epic show

It was a moment in history that millions of people tuned into last night. Four of the world's greatest trash metal bands performed on the same stage in a show that was beamed all around the world, including a theater near you! Before the four hour show, interviews with members from the bands and behind the scene footage aired. Then, the bands took to the stage. Some of the highlights include a collaboration of The Big Four playing together at once. The last time Dave Mustaine performed with Metallica was way back in 1983. Last night, however, that 27 year stint was washed away as The Big Four Live culminated in Dave getting on stage along with members of Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer to sing the Diamond Head classic “Am I Evil.” The show was broadcast around the world and here in Springfield, thrash metal fans came out in droves to watch high definition, multi-angle, pro-shot footage of The Big Four's show from Bulgaria. As of now, there are no plans to tour The Big Four in the US.

Going solo

So, is Static-X done? Well, according to Wayne Static, front man of the industrial nu metal band, answering that question is much more difficult than providing a yes or no response. Static proclaims he is Static-X, after all that is his last name. The way it has always worked is Static would put together some demos of new material, send it off to the other guys in the band, negotiations and arguments would ensue, then the album would be mixed. Static may be tired of that process and is moving forward on a new project called Pighammer that will be Static writing and recording everything without filtering it through a band before production.

New tune streaming

Meanwhile, there's a new Hellyeah tune streaming online. “Debt That All Men Pay” is the latest from the metal super-group featuring members from Mudvayne, Pantera, Nothingface and Damageplan. The new track is from the upcoming album “Stampede” which will be out July 13th. As with many forthcoming coming albums, there is the chance to pre-order a delux edition with a whole bunch of extra stuff including a DVD, a Hellyeah bull skull, and advanced access to download the album 2 weeks before it comes out.
