Out tomorrow

Tomorrow, be sure to hit up your independent record store to pick up Disturbed's forthcoming release “Asylum.” The much anticipated album marks the 10 year anniversary of the Chicago metalers. Not only will you be able to pick up the new album Tuesday, you'll also be able to tune in to a live webstream on Ustream at 4:30 CST where the band will answer fan submitted questions. Maybe you could ask front man David Draiman about his detest for rock stars who have an affinity towards collecting Nazi paraphernalia (he's not a big fan as his grand parents where victims of WWII concentration camps). Currently they are out on tour headlining the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Dirty laundry

If you are like me, you have absolutely no fashion sense. Well, enter Stone Temple Pilots' front man Scott Weiland and a new line of clothes for all of us who are fashion illiterate. Weiland's troubled past may play into his clothing line “Weiland for English Laundry” with exhortation over the top frills and unique flavors perfect for the fall months. This new line of clothes “blends the classic style and high quality of English Laundry with the design flare of the iconic, fashionable STP front man.” The Weiland hooked up with English Laundry designer Christopher Wicks to debut this new line of rock star apparel at a fashion show in Toronto, Canada, on Sunday.

Saturday Session with Bishop

August 28, 2010

Your three hours of influence will be only two hours and thirty minutes due to local high school football coverage. The show will be live from 4 to 6:30 CST on 970 WMAY and online at http://www.wmay.com (click listen live). But here are a few things Saturday Session will cover, and you're reactions are always encouraged. Be sure to have 217.629.7970 dialed and your live stream on at WMAY dot com.

News on the March

Castro is making some more bold statements, this time about the relationship between the CIA and bin Laden. Is it too far off base to say that Central Intelligence has some questionable funds transfers? Also, what is going on in Pakistan? Floods still ravage the country and the US gives them a double edged sword: relief aid and drone attacks. Big Slick, the Gulf gusher, is not as clean as the government and BP would like you to believe. Tune in to find out what they don't want you to know. News on the March will also get into some recent rulings that concern you and your freedom! Also, what is the government going to do to keep our electric grid safe from Electromagnetic Pulse either from terrorists or from the sun? Don't miss the stories you may have missed throughout the week because of the excessive coverage of the Woods' divorce. Get all the stories and some not covered on Saturday Session with Bishop's shared items.

Battle against the establishment

Constitution Candidate for Senate Randy Stufflebeam will join the show at 5p CST to talk about how unfair and disproportionate Illinois' election laws are. "As expected, the Illinois Board of Elections ruled against us. BUT.... We're not dead in the water just yet. I will confess the hull is shot up pretty badly, but we've got plenty of amunition and the engines still work... Next week we will be filing for a judicial review. If anything, this has made me more resolved to fight this system. We must stop the bleeding in Illinois," Randy said on his Facebook page. Why was his candidacy thrown out and what is the next step? Be sure to tune in tonight to find out what is next for ballot access in Illinois.

Wikileaks and war

Charges were dropped in the rape allegations brought up against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, but the molestation case is still moving forward. Do these allegations have anything to do with the new round of docs that Wikileaks released and will release? Analysts think so. Get some of the latest and developing news on the Global War on Terror front with Saturday Session including Sabah Al-Mukhtar from the Arab Lawyers Association saying the bombings may actually be the Iraqi government's way to get US troops to stay.

Unfinished business

Another outlandish story of a videographer being arrested for filming police ... this time from his garage! Tune in to hear the audio and to get the story as to what happened. The FBI payed an informant $97,000 dollars in the Bronx synagogue bomb case, as was revealed in court this week. How many more times will these types of stories be out there without the effectiveness of the Joint Terrorism Task Force's tactics being called into question? Also, Saturday Session will cover some of the latest 9/11 Truth news, including a new add that is being proposed to air in Manhattan about WTC Building 7.

Contact

Greg Bishop can be contacted many different ways. All hope is not dead

Pantera will forever live in the hearts of metal heads worldwide, and rightfully so. The crushing vocals topped with driving drums and shredding guitars of the 90s era act was a brilliant trailblazer for other metal artists that followed foot. With Dimebag dead, his brother with HELLYEAH, Phil sober and on his own (who knows what the hell happened to the bassists), there is little hope that new Pantera will ever come out. Well, hope is not dead! New, or previously unreleased (which is still new to us), Pantera will be hitting the internet this coming Monday morning! “The Will to Survive” will make its debut on the band's official Facebook page at 11am, August 30th. The new tune will be part of a special 20 year anniversary Pantera box set to be sold with all kinds of goodies including three discs. One dics will be entirely compsed of previously unreleased tunes! Head over to Pantera's webstore to pre-order the boxset with one version coming out next month and an ultimate version coming out in November. Be sure to “Like” Pantera on Facebook as well to stay up-to-date on the boxset's stagared release.

Eclectic Erna

It took several years for the current Godsmack album to come out, as the band took a break. With the forthcoming solo album from Godsmack front man Sully Erna, the question's got to be asked ... will it be another sevearl years before a new Godsmack album come out? Well, we'll have to wait for answers to those questions. In the meantime, Erna is talking up his new album saying it is an intellectual and eclectic album where every listen will provide something new. Many of the tunes on the forthcoming album were songs that Erna had put on the side over the years. There's a lot of tribal and primitative hand-drums and somewhat of a world music vibe. Godsmack fans may be turned off by these epic tunes, some weighing in at 9 minutes, but it is worth a shot, right? “Avalon,” Erna's solo album, will be out September 14th.

This kid can shred

The Dark Prince got schooled by a 10-year-old guitar prodigy as Ozzy performed “Crazy Train” earlier this week. During Conneticuts' Ozzfest show, 10-year-old Yuto Miyazawa joined Ozzy on staged with a Flying-V guitar, and what is apparent in fan-shot video, Yuto tore it up! Picking up the guitar at the age of 3, Yuto has had quite the career so far playing with Ozzy and, before he passed away, Les Paul. Yuto has been recognized by Guiness as the youngest professional guitar player.

Anniversary show

It's hard to believe that it has been 20 years since Pearl Jam released their first album, but it has, and to celebrate the Seatle natives will have an unofficial anniversary show October 23rd-24th in California. The show is actually an annual benefit show that was organized by Neil Young to help out Bridge School. Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard said the benefit show is perfect for a 20th anniversary show because it is somewhat low key and “not too blown out.”

New tour

There's an epic tour being 'a brewing. Nu-metal newcommers Five Finger Death Punch will be hitting the road with Godsmack for a North American trek. So far, only six dates in early October up in New England have been laid out thus far, but we'll keep you posted.

The Big Four on DVD

If you missed out on traveling over to Bulgaria for the Big Four show that happened a couple of months ago, you know because you have responsibilities, don't worry. If you weren't able to get to the local theather when the Big Four's show from Bulgaria was beamed via satellite worldwide, DON'T WORRY! There will be a DVD, according to a posting on Metallica's website. The forthcoming release will be available in the states October 19th. It won't just be a DVD of Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica performing live, but it will also include some of the key interviews featured in the satellite broadcast. If you really wanna go hardcore, you can pick up the box set which will feature two DVDs (or BluRay discs), five CDs with all the music form the four bands and a 24 page book, glossy photos of each band, a poster and a Big Four guitar pick! What more could you want?!?! Check out pro-shot video of "Am I Evil" performed by The Big Four in Bulgaria.

More on Metallica

The classic thrash ballad “Enter Sandman” from the legends Metallica may be one of the songs used to wake up the crew on the final voyage of Spaceship Discovery. The craft is scheduled for one final flight outside of the earth's atmosphere this November. NASA has put together an online voting contest where visitors can select which song they would like the crew to be woken up by every morning. Here's a question ... when in space, is there such thing as morning? Anyway, Metallica is just one of 40 on the list visitors can choose from. Others include music from The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Foo Fighters, 3 Doors Down, Rush and more.

Time to retire

Meanwhile, Aerosmith shows may be affected by the recession. The band's gig scheduled for the opening day of New York's State Fair has only sold a little over half of the tickets available ... and the show is tomorrow! We'll just blame the economy, because who wants to pay an average of $94 to watch a bunch of super washed-out rockstars on stage, especially when Tyler and Perry, the two main men, are literally getting in to squabbles off and on stage. It's called retirement! Do it!

Taking stock

Black Label Society is still riding high on the charts at No. 4 with their album “Order of the Black.” Meanwhile Avenged Sevenfold's “Nightmare” is at No. 10 on the Billboard Top 200. Buckcherry's “All Night Long” is down to No. 30, Ozzy's “Scream” is at No. 45 and Nickelback's “Dark Horse” is amazingly still riding high at No. 46. Korn's “Remember Who You Are” is selling strong as well at No. 50. This proves that despite all the fluff of Gaga, Beiber and the Jonas Brothers, rock still dominates the charts! Be sure to pick up Apocalyptica's “7th Symphony” which is out today, and next week we'll see the release of Disturbed's highly anticipated album “Asylum.”

Forthcoming reunion?

Speaking of forthcoming releases, System of a Down front man Serj Tankian is preparing for a second solo album release. September 21st will be the date Serj's sophomore album “Imperfect Melodies” will hit the streets. On the topic of System of a Down, Serj doesn't really have much to say. He recently said that the band still gets together socially as their bassist just got married, but the band has “not made any decisions as of yet as to what we're gonna do. But when we do, it'll be quite obvious.” Be sure to check out the latest video for “Left of Center” from Serj's upcoming album.

Zombie plays God

Rob Zombie is lending more than his directing talents to the big screen. In the soon-to-be film festival favorite “Super,” Rob Zombie's voice will be the voice of God. The film, directed by James Gunn, stars Raine Wilson (better known as Dwight form “The Office”) as a dweeb who ends up becoming a super hero. His wife, played by Liv Tyler, hooks up with a drug dealer, played by Keven Bacon, and the story continues to develop from there. Ellen Page also stars in this quirky comedy as Wilson's sidekick. The film, which features Zombie as the voice of God, surely will be a huge hit with the film festival circuit. “Super” premiers at the Toronto Film Festival next month.

Questions answered

Fan submitted questions were answered by three bands that are hooking up for a fall tour. AOL's Noisecreep facilitated the interviews with Alice In Chains, The Deftones and Mastodon where a variety of questions were brought up. The 19-minute couch visit can be viewed at BlackDiamondSkye's website, BlackDiamondSkye.com. The tripple-bill tour with Alice In Chains, Deftones and Mastodon, is coming to St. Louis quicker than you'd expect. The three will be playing the Scott Trade Center October 1st. Saturday Session with Bishop

August 21, 2010

Your three hours of influence will be interrupted this weekend as WMAY makes room for NASCAR©. The show will be live however, but from 4 to 5:30 CST on 970 WMAY and online at http://www.wmay.com (click listen live). Since NASCAR© will take the AM airwaves in central Illinois, half of Saturday Session will be a best of and online only. But here are a few things Saturday Session will cover, and you're reactions are always encouraged. Be sure to have 217.629.7970 dialed and your live stream on at WMAY dot com.

Wiretapping Illinois

Is it illegal to videotape police in Illinois? What about taking snapshots or how about a covert, but in public, audio recording? Do peace officers working in the public capacity have a reasonable expectation of privacy? What is the Illinois Eavesdropping Act?

Well, The ACLU is fighting to answer some of these questions. Be sure to tune in tonight to hear about the suit brought up in Chicago and several other stories concerning your rights to hold people in the public domain accountable. They can tape and tap you in public, but you can't tape and tap them in public? We not only have lost our rights, America (and Illinois), we have lost our minds!

Speaking of wiretapping ...

Blago verdict

One hold-our juror will cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars! Who is this hold-out juror, Jo Ann Chiakulas, and how did she make it on the jury? Moving forward, prosecutors are demanding a speedy and quick retrial, but Blagojevich may want to delay it as long as he can so he can continue to play off reality TV's cheapened stardom to continue to taint the jury pool. This whole thing has been botched from the get go! Should there be a new approach to white-collar crimes?

Combat operations stop, but the GWOT's 'bout to pop

Any moment, a crisis could lead to conflict and America will have to step in (unless we change our foreign policy ... remember that word CHANGE?). After over 7 years in Iraq (based off prior existing war plans ... 9/11 was a great pretext), the final combat troops have withdrawn. This is great news ... or is it?

It must be understood what is really happening here. The US is now handing over security operations to 50,000 "advisors" and thousands of private contractors. One question about the mercenaries ... Would they not profit from continued chaos in that region require their "services" to be used even more? Meanwhile Afghan President Karzi is demanding that private contractors be removed from the country.

In a related note, while some reports indicate that an "unexpected" development in the Wikileaks saga now has the whistle-blower website founder being charged with rape and molestation, many knew that these types of character attacks were almost certain. Even if Assange is arrested, tried, and convicted, does that take away the impact that Wikileaks has on the public's perception of war?

Bilderberg in the mainstream

Nearly half of Cuba's Communist newspaper was taken up by Fidel Castro's thoughts about a book he read by Daniel Estulin all about the Bilderberg Group. This caught the mainstream media off guard to the point of complete stupidity and child-like rambling. Why does the mainstream write this story off? Not the story that an anti-hero world leader is expressing his concerns of the New World Order, but that the western world's elite get together every year in secret for policy decision discussions?

Be sure to tune in to Saturday Session with Bishop online after 5:30! During the online only best of segment, you'll hear a Saturday Session conversation with the author of several books about Club Bilderberg, Daniel Estulin.

Obama: the CIA asset?

If there is time, maybe we'll talk about the bizarre connections Obama's relatives have to the Central Intelligence Agency and what that means. This is pretty far out there and extremely dense stuff! Here are some preliminary reports from www.veteranstoday.com about Wayne Madsen's Obama "bombshell." Happy trudging!

Thinking reunions

Fans of Sebastian Bach and Skid Row may be saddened by the news that Bach doesn't foresee a reunion of the 80s hair legends anytime soon. In an interview Bach said he just doesn't know the band anymore. “I think of Skid Row the same way you might think of picking up your high-school yearbook,” Bach said. “You have affection for what happened 30 years ago, but you look at the yearbook and you go, 'Oh, cool,' and you shut it, and it's today” Meanwhile, the prospect of a Black Sabbath reunion would complete Ozzy's life, according to the Dark Prince. In a recent interview Ozzy talked about being sober, performing live and about getting together with some old band mates. “To be honest with you,” Ozzy said “I would love to do a killer Black Sabbath album. It would make my life, my whole thing, round up perfectly for me.”

More video

Tuesday, Steven Tyler was hip-checked off a Toronto stage by his own band mate, Joe Perry and the video is priceless. Now, there is another video of something that happened five days earlier. This incident happened August 12th during a New York performance of “Sweet Emotion.” Tyler was up on the drum platform swaying back-and-forth with his mic stand. Perry was just beside him on the lower part of the stage. Tyler spin-jumps down and continues to swing his stand back-and-forth and then you hear a thud as the microphone knocks Perry on the top of the head. Tyler looks with concern as Perry ducks down in pain and then throws his guitar into his amps and walks off stage. Dude, you're in your 60s and you're acting like a toddler. Suck it up, pansy! On the Tyler/American Idol front, apparently the ink is dry, though it has not been announced by Fox. Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton said the band will be working around Tyler's AI schedule when working on the new Aerosmith album.

Going down ... again

A year after an epic fall off the Sturgis stage, Aerosmith has had yet another off-staging incident. Steven Tyler reportedly was knocked off a stage in Toronto Tuesday, not by dancing around as was the case last year at Sturgis, but by his guitar player Joe Perry. In the middle of “Love in an Elevator,” Perry hip-checked Tyler causing the 62-year-old to teeter of the stage into the crowd. Best thing about this is it was caught on tape! Some think they look like your great grandmother who has smoked for years, but their behavior as of late would indicate they were 5-years-old.

UFO sighting

Ozzy was able to conjure up something out of this world at an Ozzfest show in California Saturday ... it was an unidentified flying object! Spectators said that a triangular aircraft with round tips and flashing lights that was much higher in the air than conventional aircraft was seen hovering over the concert for a moment before it ducked down below the tree line. Interestingly enough, this is not the first time a UFO was sighted at an Ozzfest. Back in 2004, there was what the History Channel calls one of the best documented UFO sightings as concertgoers headed to their cars outside Tinley Park they saw a similar triangular craft hovering in the air for 20 minutes.

Topping the charts

Zach Wylde has something to gloat about. Black Label Society's most recent album “Order of the Black” has landed at No. 4 on the Billboard top 200. That's near the top of the charts with only 33,000 sales in the first week of sales.
