Show brief

Greg Bishop hosts Saturday Session each and every Saturday from 3 to 7p CST on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield. This week, the first hour will be a best of, then shortly after 4p Greg Bishop goes live to talk about everything from the NDAA to anticipating G20 protests in Chicago to presidential politics. Then the last hour of the program, high school basketball takes over the airwaves.

Hour 1 best of

Listen in for the Science of Occupy, information about how the EPA works to save the environment while costing taxpayers money and jobs and also we revisit the day that Herman Cain stepped down from the GOP race. That's all during the first hour of Saturday Session today.

The 3 S's vote for NDAA

The NDAA passed both the house and the senate and the White House has backed away from a veto threat. The bill is extremely controversial as it seems to take away due process for anyone, even American citizens, who may be a "suspected" al-Qaeda sympathizer. Bishop will play for you comments from Congressman Aaron Schock who voted for the bill alongside many of his Republican colleagues including area congressmen John Shimkus and Bobby Schilling. We'll try to figure out exactly what the language is and if it indeed includes indefinite detention of American citizens.

Protesters in Chicago

Illinois will be the center of globalization as the G20 prepares to meet in Chicago next year. In advance of those meetings, and the hordes of anti-globalization/anti-neoliberal protests that come with it, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is sending mixed messages. He says that protester's rights will be preserved while asking for fines for resisting arrest to be jacked up to $1000! We'll talk about the mixed messages and also about past protests where it is apparent there was agent provocateur actions to discredit the protests of the G20, G8 and other globalist plots.

Presidential politics

The GOP field is gearing up for the Iowa Caucus and shortly thereafter it's New Hampshire and who will be the top dog then? We'll analyze the current contenders and who has the most muster. Everyone from Gingrich to Romney to Bachmann, Huntsman and Paul will be discussed. And, we'll play some clips from the recent FOX News Debate where Bachmann and Paul go at it about Iran. That's all on the way with Saturday Session.
