Video Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDp83yWvhKA&feature=autoshare Show brief This week it's an abriviated show as a local high school football team, Chatham-Glenwood Titans, begin a run in the IHSA playoffs. Saturday Session will kick in live at 5:30 CST on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield. Listen online at www.WMAY.com, listen via Tunein, search "WMAY," or if you're in central Illinois turn your AM dial to 970 AM, WMAY. ![]() There will be a ton to cover from the Occupy the Capital rally organized by Occupy Springfield, Illinois. "Notice of Eviction" is the theme and a group of people will deliver the notice to the silver dome--the press release says they will "post a Notice of Eviction on the door of the Capital building ". Critics call the group's goals lofty and scatter-shot or unattainable. We'll hear from individuals at the rally to hear what "occupy" means to them. We'll also get their take on the philosophies behind protest, the multitutde, globalization and more. There will be plenty of actualitites from the rally posted through YouTube.com/BishopONAIR (subscribe for updates). A peace march is to follow shortly thereafter. This will be similar to other peace marches showing support for non-violent protesters who are aggressively attacked by police, as was the case in Manhatten, Oakland and Nashville--not to mention numerous examples from all around the world. The Press Release says "We have the human right to assemble peacefully and will exercise the right to speak freely," and who can't agree with that?!?! The story really is not what the demands of this group are or what the makeup of the crowd is. The story here is there are a growing number of people who are upset, disenfranchised and compartmentalized--and they're ready for action. Globalization is happening from above not from below. The "powers that be" are influenced by "the select few" who have used think tanks, non-government organizations, and the media to manipulate the public's focus away from real issues and instead on materialistic commercial garbage. What is the solution? What is the endgame? Who will be victorious? That has yet to be determined. Listen live to Saturday Session at 5:30 p CST for a breakdown of the Occupy the Capital Rally Eviction. There will be video/audio premiered from Saturday's rally and analysis of the message and movement.
