STOP ACTA & TPP

Stop ACTA & TPP! - Never use trade agreements to mess with the Internet!

They tried to push internet censorship through Congress and we stopped them with our STOP SOPA/PIPA protests. But the companies behind SOPA & PIPA have a backup plan: secretive trade agreements like ACTA & TPP. If we can't stop these backroom deals, the internet's future belongs to SOPA's backers. DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO SPREAD THE WORD, CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES, YELL FROM THE STREET CORNERS, ALL OF IT! You can start by using the form below to send a message. Saturday Session with Bishop

August 14, 2010

Your three hours of influence is on Saturday evenings from 4 to 7p CST. Catch the most controversial local political-theory weekend talk-show only on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield. Tonight, Saturday Session will cover News on the March, the real secret societies you should worry about, Wikileaks under attack from all sides, Photography is Not A Crime, and more.

News on the March

Here are just a few of the stories that News on the March will cover: Ahmadinejad has some interesting things to say about 9/11, the Pentagon needs to tighten it's belt, Federal Employees earn 30 to 40 percent more $ than those in the private sector, Pakistan floods out of control, Gitmo trials get interesting, Stevens is dead and O'keefe is seriously injured, bailout for teacher's unions, and what's this about how you can't send smokes to the troops? Oh, how can we forget the comments from Robert Gibbs earlier this week about drug testing those who say Obama is Bush on steroids? Well, I guess everyone at the ACLU should start filling up some cups. These stories and so many more will be shared on the air with Saturday Session. As always, you can get all the stories and some Bishop can't get to because of time, with Bishop's Shared items.

The real secret societies

There have been so many attacks on Rand Paul, the son of former republican presidential candidate and current Texas congressman Ron Paul. Ever since his overwhelming nomination as the republican Senate Candidate for Kentucky where he beat out the establishment candidate, the media has been on a direct assault of his character. It's now to the point where elite magazines are printing stories with anonymous sources saying that Paul was in a college "secret society" where he took part in crazy rituals and forced people to take drugs. Hear what Paul has to say about the whole deal. Also, find out the real secret societies that you should know about!

Under attack

Wikileaks has been in the spotlight nonstop for the past year and it will only get more intense for the whistle-blower website. Not only is the Pentagon encouraging its allies to do what they can to limit the strength of Wikileaks, they are also under fire from Reporters Without Borders for their leaked documents. What will Wikileaks likely do in the face of intense criticism and threats to their modus operandi? Oh, and Wikileaks has about 15,000 more documents they will be releasing soon.

Fight for your right to ... take pictures

Photography is not a crime! Plain and simple! People in public have no expectation of privacy and therefor should not expect that their conversations or images on public streets should held confidential. That includes police officers and buildings. Surely there is a line where the law won't allow you to cross, but that is only in the case of perverts doing perverted things. If you want to take a picture of a building, do it! If you want to take a picture of a police officer on the streets (in uniform or not) do it! As long as you are not obstructing justice and/or hindering an ongoing investigation, you can take those pictures! Carlos Miller's blog, Photography Is Not A Crime, is an excellent resource to keep up with when the rights of a free press are concerned.
