STOP ACTA & TPP

Stop ACTA & TPP! - Never use trade agreements to mess with the Internet!

They tried to push internet censorship through Congress and we stopped them with our STOP SOPA/PIPA protests. But the companies behind SOPA & PIPA have a backup plan: secretive trade agreements like ACTA & TPP. If we can't stop these backroom deals, the internet's future belongs to SOPA's backers. DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO SPREAD THE WORD, CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES, YELL FROM THE STREET CORNERS, ALL OF IT! You can start by using the form below to send a message. Saturday Session with Bishop

May 29, 2010

Back live this week, your three hour of influence is on! Tune in online at WMAY dot com from 4 to 7pm CST for Saturday Session with Bishop. You can catch live streaming video of what is happening inside the studio from Bishop's web cam (only available from 4 - 7p CST). There is so much to get to, from Big Slick down in the Gulf to the upcoming Bilderberg meeting brief being leaked and more.

What, you didn't hear?

News on the march will provide a good overview of the stories that you may have missed from being glued to the season finale of network television shows like "Lost" or "24" or "American Idol" (a show about a confused bunch of game pieces, another show condoning torture, and the last speaks for itself). Like, did you hear about the guy who caught a computer virus because of his implantable microchip? What about the teacher who was suspended for teaching kids how to understand the the police won't always respect their rights and one must mitigate that always. Or, how about how much lobbying the government cost you the taxpayer? What about this one, where there is a probe into MI5's role during the 7/7 bombing? We can't not mention the plan to create a Saddam sex tape. Get these and other stories from Bishop's Shared Items.

After News on the March

Let's start with Big Slick. What has already been labeled as the worst environmental disaster in the US could be a sign of a systemic collapse of the system in general. BP/Haliburton/Transocean all are responsible for what is going on, but the eye should also be kept clearly on the Federal Government and their revolving door of indigents who do not deserve to be in the positions they are in. Why are there still rigs operating that may have been waived by the Interior Department. Why is BP trying to shew journalists away from beaches or tell workers to not where protective breathing gear while skimming the plume out of the gulf. The Oil industry in general has so much crude on their hands with very little accountability. You may not have heard about all the happenings with Chevron. This past week protesters were arrested outside and inside of Chevron meetings. Indigenous people's voices are being trampled by corporate piety and it must stop! Tune in to Saturday Session to get all the weeks most outrageous stories from Big Slick, including the potential for another rig to become even more disastrous ... The Atlantis.

Checkered past

Going back just a mere 60 years or so, there is the infamous "Operation Ajax." Tune in to get all the details about how the CIA colluded with British Petroleum to play politics in Iran.

Politics, it's a dirty ... really dirty game

Speaking of playing geopolitics, the Korean peninsula could erupt into chaos from all sides. It appears we have Japan on our side but China remains neutral. What will the "consequences" be that Secretary of State Clinton speaks of? It is really difficult to not think about The Gulf of Tonkin event that started the Vietnam war.

The story of Rand Paul is an interesting one, to be sure. Bishop will take this opportunity to outline what, not a politician's, but a representative's true job is, and it relies heavily on an active public! These blatant attack attempts on the TEA Party Republican who won in Kentucky show you just how the mainstream media (MSM) works in tandem to discredit someone popularly nominated by their constituents. These attacks on a man took place, not only in the MSM but in local talk and the alternative, for over a week. Meanwhile, the story of the White House using former President Clinton to try and get Sestek off Specter's case breaks and starts picking up speed just before a three day holiday weekend. See how this works?

Libertarian update

Sometime throughout the show we'll hear from Chris Bennet, anarco-libertarian activist from the Springfield area, about the Libertarian Party National Convention currently going on in St. Louis. If you were not aware, the Libertarian Party of Illinois' convention is going to be held this year at the Hilton Garden Inn September 10-12. Make your plans today to attend this convention.

Remember those who serve

Veteran (and ancient) White House correspondent Helen Thomas did during the president's press conference about Big Slick. Let's remember to honor those who defend their brothers and sisters in harms way, fighting in this ill-conceived Global War on Terror. The best way to honor them is to bring them home and not lie about what they are there to do!
