What, you didn't hear?
News on the March is a central part to Saturday Session highlighting some of the stories the mainstream media may have skipped over. Tune in to catch News on the March. Get a list of all the stories Bishop shares (including some there is no time for) through Bishop's Shared Items from Google Reader.
Unconstitutional
The Health Care reform bill that passed the House, signed with over 20 pens by President Obama, sent back to the House by the Senate to fix some things and then passed again--is raising red flags that should cross party lines. There is no question that offering insurance across state lines is good. There is no question that denying insurance for people who have preexisting medical conditions is wrong. There is no question that preventative health care is a good thing. What is a HUGE problem is the federal government mandating Americans to purchase a product or service and there is confusion about health care vs. health insurance. How can we, as Illinois residents, join a bunch of other states to use the constitution to block this bill. Tune in to find out. Be sure to become part of the Facebook Group, Urge Illinois to file suit against Obama Care.
REAL ID
Passed in 2005 with a war appropriations bill, the REAL ID Act was something recommended by the 9/11 Commission to make this country safe. State refused to submit to a national ID card because of financial and civil liberty issues. Now, Lindsay Graham and Chuck Schumer are standing upon their elite bipartisanship to get the measure of a high-tech biometric ID card in the hands of American citizens. Tune in to Saturday Session to find out the particulars and why this must be resisted.
Anger continues to mount
People are getting really upset about the continued expansion of the Federal Government and the ongoing destruction of the US Constitution. It is important to remember that the pen (and voice) is much mightier than any sword cast from the strongest metal. Reports of threats towards lawmakers because of the recent passage of health care is very dangerous to any kind of resolve in this (and any other manner). What could possibly come from demonizing dissent?
