STOP ACTA & TPP

Stop ACTA & TPP! - Never use trade agreements to mess with the Internet!

They tried to push internet censorship through Congress and we stopped them with our STOP SOPA/PIPA protests. But the companies behind SOPA & PIPA have a backup plan: secretive trade agreements like ACTA & TPP. If we can't stop these backroom deals, the internet's future belongs to SOPA's backers. Saturday Session with Bishop

Updated March 3, 2010

Segments Saturday Session

If you missed some Saturday's show, be sure to check out some of the highlights from Saturday Session. With Bishop's interview of Ralph (mp3), a Facebook user whose account was hacked by a Nigerian scammer, you can hear a frightening story about how your Facebook account may be compromised. Also, get an update on the Public Access 4 Producers group's efforts (mp3) to get that important channel back on your Springfield cable with Mario Ingoglia.

Between February 28th and April 19th, 1993, the ATF and then the FBI had their sites on David Koresh ... why? The last hour of Saturday Session (mp3) focused in depth on the events that began the 51 day siege on the Branch Davidians of Waco, TX. Was it because of accusations of child rape or accusations of illegal weapons and drugs or merely a huge publicity stunt gone wrong? This is the first of several installments of that historic event Saturday Session will focus on.

As always, you can check out some of the past shows at the Saturday Session streaming channel from 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield.

February 27, 2010

Greg Bishop hosts Saturday Session on 970 WMAY, the News and Talk of Springfield. Catch the show live from 4 to 7pm CST online at WMAY dot com.

Bishop will keep a close eye on the developing Chilean earthquake and possible (certain) tsunami hitting Hawaii and the West Coast of the US. Follow the google feed of Hawaii here and the tsunami here. You can watch live Associated Press video here.

Tonight on the show

Facebook is not secure. Yesterday, a Nigerian scammer/hacker took over a friend's Facebook account and had been asking all the friend' unsuspecting connections for help with hotel bills in London. This scam has happened before on other chatting services or via email. The friend, whose account was hacked, did some research and found an article from last year that explains how Facebook hacks are possible. Read the article here, and ask yourself "does Facebook's lack of security prove incompetence or negligence?" It's a shame, either way.

What, you didn't hear?

News on the March moves forward: What was accomplished from the healthcare forum? Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth held a press conference. What did they reveal? Blackwater has been getting slammed. The CIA briefed 68 lawmakers on interrogation programs. The Pentagon disclosed even more potential illegal intelligence activities. The USA Patriot Act has been extended. Afghan's offensive kills innocent civilians. And, a huge earthquake rocks Chile ... tsunamis to follow. Catch all the stories you may have missed by checking out Bishop's Shared Items through Google Reader.

We will hear from Mario Ingolia with updates on public access TV in Springfield. Get the latest info on efforts to revive public access TV.

In depth

Also, tomorrow, Sunday, February 28th is the 17th anniversary of the beginning of the Waco Siege. Saturday Session will disect the reasons the ATF raided the compound of the unconventional religious group. Was it because of accusations of child rape or accusations of illegal weapons and drugs or merely a huge publicity stunt gone wrong? Hear the testimony from investigators, witnesses, victims and more tonight with Saturday Session. This will be the first installment of the Saturday Session's coverage of that event. If you have never investigated the unforgettable tragedy that lasted for 51 days between February 28th and April 19th, be sure to watch the shocking documentary "Waco: The Rules of Engagement." You can watch the entire documentary online, via Google Video. Click here for Part 1, and here for Part 2. The documentary is also available to view online through Netflix

Activism

Everything is falling into it's right place in planning the Rally for Nonintervention. The permit has been secured and so have the speakers and music. Be sure to spread the word of the Rally for Nonintervention which will be held at the Illinois State Capitol Building in Springfield March 20th from 11 to 2 (actual program to start tentatively at noon) with music from Hot Bag 'O Donuts and candidates for public office from the Constitution, Libertarian, and Green parties. March 20th will be a big day for the rally and for Saturday Session as Jesse Ventura will join the show to discuss his latest book "American Conspiracies." You do not want to miss out on that very exciting day!
