Saturday Session with Bishop

October 04, 2008

Greg Bishop hosts Saturday Session with Bishop on 970 WMAY, streaming worldwide at WMAY dot com, from 5p to 7p CST.

Tonight on the show, we will try to dig into the bailout (rescue) plan that passed the House and was signed by the President on Friday. What is in the bill, who does this effect, and what is next?

Some representatives in congress stated their constituents are "confused" about the bail out. So they decided to go against up to 80% of what their constituents felt ... what does this say about our representatives?

The public sphere must be vibrant in a true democracy. This public must be recognized by any standing government for legitimation. If there is no legitimation, the government is in crisis. When will we realize our legitimation crisis? We'll talk about it in the public sphere.

If time permits, we will also discuss Cosmopolitanism ... and I don't mean the delicious drink made with Vodka, Triple Sec, and cranberry juice!
